Syzygy Entertainment

A lot has happened since January, and Syzygy Studios has become Syzygy Entertainment, which will incorporate the original Syzygy Studios, as well as Syzygy Publishing and The Syzygy Network.

The idea is for each unit to complement the other two, cross promoting each other and saving money in the bargain.

We're still focused entirely on SciFi and Fantasy, but we'll now be producing not only TV shows and movies, but comic books, graphic novels, novels and magazines as well.

Back story that doesn't fit well into a TV show can be explored and revealed in graphic novels and other formats, allowing the serious fan to know much more about the show than is revealed on the show itself.

We've added quite a few new professionals to the Syzygy family, including an experienced network executive, a great new man to run the publishing company, well known in SciFi circles, and several new artists.

With all of the new offerings comes a need for a more complex business plan, more people and more money, and these things take time, but we're still rolling along and making deals behind the scenes. We've already found directors, producers and actors who have agreed to work with us on some projects, as well as the aforementioned animators and artists.

This is that time when things on the surface seem to be crawling along, but there's a nearly frenetic buzz going on behind the scenes as we try to keep up with all of the work we're doing to get all of this going.

I had to quit my "day job" as a writer at the beginning of the year because I simply didn't have time for it anymore, and now I'm busy even just dealing with Syzygy.

That will all get better once we can afford to hire some full-time people to come on board, but at this point in time, I'm the only full timer and all of the other 30 or so people involved are working very part time on an entirely volunteer basis.

Hopefully that will change very soon, but again, that takes cash, so finding the right investors is key at this point. We've had several offers, but none have been a good fit for us yet and we're determined to do this right the first time.

Here's to hoping the right ones will come along very soon!
