I just wanted to say how utterly amazed I am at what this team has been able to accomplish in just 2 and a half years.
Going through all of this stuff to put a forum and info packet together for investors (and the Hollywood folks Scott and I will be meeting with next week) really brings it to mind.
Not only the sheer volume, but the quality of work is very impressive. And still very few of us have actually ever met each other in person. That will change before too long. If it hasn't happened before, then if (when) we get the network running I'm going to bring everyone together in L.A. for a big "grand opening" sort of bash.
I'm really proud of this team.

I am also amazed by the energy everyone has put forth. Dave, don't sell yourself short here, you organized all of this in a very professional maner you should be proud of your self as well. Most of us have not met each other in person, I have met Christine back in 2005, and of course, I live near Bill and we have been to many cons together. It goes to prove that not everyone has to meet in person to be able to accomplish great things. There is still a long road ahead but the first steps have been grand to take...

Thanks Tom,
Incidentally, Scott and I have a phone conference with our cable network adviser, the President of the Sundance Channel and IFC (The Independent Film Channel) tomorrow morning, and then I have one with a representative of a bunch of high-end investors from India tomorrow afternoon (Eastern Standard Time), so wish us all luck on this!

Honestly, for me it's been more fun than work
Coming up with stories, characters, fictional technologies and possible solutions to creative problems... I love this stuff. These are the things I do to relax, so the idea of having this as my *job* is...well I don't think it's quite hit me yet that this is what I'll be doing.
Good luck with your phone conferences

There's an IRC channel set up for this place - #scifistudios on the EFNet network (irc.efnet.org). If you have mIRC installed, just click this link (mIRC will open it and you will come to the channel). Maybe I should open #syzygystudios as well...

It's great to see you back in here, Christine!
My daughter commented that painting or this kind of stuff would be called a "joy job." I think it must be a term she learned at school in their career discussions. We'll be lucky indeed if we can do it. There's stress and hard work, but it's a passion, and a lot of people don't have that in their job.

Same here. All of us are doing this because we enjoy our work.
Good luck with the conference!
