Hey everyone. The server is being copied over now, but I can't make the name server changes until late this afternoon, so anything put into the forums now will NOT make it over to the new ones.

As such, please hold your posts until tomorrow, or at least until I post an update here. That way we won't lose any posts from today.

This switch should make InSight's performance much better.

Thanks!

I THINK the forum will work now.

There's a MYSQL problem with the database that's keeping our videos from working, but it looks at if everything else is up and running properly.

Please let me know if you have any issues.

This works on one of my computers, but not the other, so please check in if you have access to the forum so we can see who has access back.

Thanks!

The link listed at http://www.syzygy-pr...ons.com/?p=home doesn't work because it doesn't specify the PHP IDX renderer (index.php?act=idx). This can be fixed in two ways, and I recommend #2:

1. Set the link to http://www.syzygystu...dex.php?act=idx on that page
2. Make index.php?act=idx the default homepage of /community/ (this is done in Apache or whatever other httpd you are using, although you can do it in .htaccess as well)

There's an IRC channel set up for this place - #scifistudios on the EFNet network (irc.efnet.org). If you have mIRC installed, just click this link (mIRC will open it and you will come to the channel). Maybe I should open #syzygystudios as well...

Hey Dave,

Thank you for sending the link. I've been so busy I hadn't noticed if the original link was viable or not.

:-) Glad to see everything is up and running smooth again.

FYI from the main page clicking on "community" doe not get you here, you may want to change that one when you get a chance.

Hey Bill,

It works with some computers, but not others. I don't think I have an interface with the new server to mess with that kind of stuff yet, but it's getting a redesign anyway, so it'll probably only be out for a week or two, even if I can't figure out how to replace the file.

I do at least have the ability to get the episodes up myself now, but it may still be slightly delayed again this week because Scott is handing the editing reins over to our new student assistant who's interning with us this semester.

I had trouble with insight, too. I can't see what I'm typing either, but it posts. That's great about the student help.

Yeah, more people working on this is always good :)

I haven't been able to see the last couple of InSight episodes, they just load a bit of the ep and then something breaks in the stream - looks as if the whole ep is loaded, but it can't get past that point. Also, one thing that annoys me about the FLV player you're using is that I can't skip ahead. That would've solved the problem for me =/

I found one web page that played a whole episode smoothly for me, no menu fro other eps on that page. The place with the menu doesn't work well, gaps in video, slow...

It partially depends on the video as well. I went with a very high quality for two or three episodes (maybe 30 and 31 or so?) They're much, much larger files, and may cause problems. On the other hand, something new may have crept in that has problems recently, because all of the shows are freezing my computer while I'm compiling them after editing. It's been happening for two or three weeks. It could be a problem in one of the clips being used that's making its way into the final file and causing issues there as well. I'm not sure how to find out.

Of course, if that's the problem, it probably won't happen this week because it's being edited on an entirely separate system using new, fresh files.

Thank goodness! I thought maybe I was losing my mind. I wasn't able to see this post until today. I miss it when I can't get to the forum!

And we miss you, Jaydin! I still have strange things on here, like not being able to see what I type.

That's odd. I wonder why?

Jaydin, did you not get my email telling people how to get back on a couple of weeks back?

I sent it to everyone who's a member of the forum, so if you didn't get it, that means the email you have listed in your profile here isn't the one you use. You may want to check into that.

Well its some minor stuff with the new server or host ISP. For instance, at work if I go to http://www.syzygystu....net/community/ it does not work but http://www.syzygystu...unity/index.php does. At home both ways are fine. So to be safe I made sure on the links on the main page go to http://www.syzygystu...unity/index.php and not just http://www.syzygystu...net/community/. Again nothing major just some adjusting.

any idea why there are black and grey bands over most of the area you type on. I can't find a way to move them out of the way so I can see the white type box. Instead of being at the top, all the options like center etc. are in a long row along the left of the screen, covering the typing box.
